This policy explains how BikeBus.club collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, web app, mobile app, and related services.

Overview
BikeBus.club provides tools adults use to organize community bike buses. We handle household, rider, emergency-contact, participation, and location information as sensitive information.
Information We Collect
Information you or an authorized adult provide can include account name and email, authentication-provider identifiers, household relationships and contact details, home address, rider names and ages or birthdates, rider readiness and participation acknowledgements, club membership, routes and stops, RSVPs, attendance, volunteer assignments, feed content, photos, support requests, and safety reports.
When you use ride-day features, we process operational state and, when the feature and permissions call for it, device location or ride progress. Verified household addresses may be geocoded to a home point. Some features also use an approximate current location for a single nearby-club request.
We receive technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as device and browser details, network and server logs, account-session information, and feature-use or error events. Optional analytics choices are described below.
Adults And Rider Profiles
BikeBus.club accounts are for adults 18 or older. Children do not create or use accounts. An authorized adult may enter and manage rider profiles for children or other household members. The adult is responsible for having authority to provide that information.
We use rider information to support household coordination, ride participation, route and stop planning, safety, attendance, and ride-day operations. A rider profile is not a direct account.
How We Use Information
We use information to create and secure adult accounts; operate clubs, household profiles, routes, rides, RSVPs, volunteer assignments, and safety workflows; provide requested maps and route guidance; send service messages; answer support requests; investigate reports; maintain service reliability; and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use rider, household, emergency-contact, or precise live-location information for targeted advertising.
Household Locations And Club Visibility
Verified household home points are sensitive. Active organizers of a club may view verified home points for that club’s current member households in the authenticated club household directory to plan routes and safer ways for households to join. Club organizers may also see adult and rider names, rider ages, household participation and relevant ride information needed to coordinate club activity. Access is limited by club role and membership; these details are not public.
For a confirmed participant in a future, unstarted ride, an authorized organizer may view the household’s verified home point and selected route stop to plan that household’s approach. When the organizer requests a cycling approach route, BikeBus.club sends those coordinates to Mapbox’s Directions service to calculate the path. Mapbox also provides mapping and address geocoding features. This disclosure is limited to the requested route-planning service and does not make a household point public or authorize live tracking.
When an adult explicitly starts an authorized live-ride feature, location may be shared with the authorized ride participants for ride operations. Nearby-club discovery uses approximate location for that request only. These purposes are distinct from organizer household planning.
Photos And Media
Users may upload photos or media for club, ride, feed, or post-ride sharing features. Uploaded media may be visible to other authorized users based on club settings, user role, consent, moderation status, and product context.
We may review, remove, restrict, or moderate uploaded media for safety, privacy, consent, or policy reasons. Public or shareable use of photos involving riders should respect household, rider, and club media consent settings.
How We Share Information
Information is visible to household adults, club organizers, volunteers, or other users only as needed for the feature, club role, and ride participation described above. Public pages do not expose precise household home points, private rider profiles, emergency contacts, or live rider locations.
Service providers process information to host and secure BikeBus.club, authenticate users, provide maps and route directions, send email, and deliver any separately enabled analytics or diagnostics. Mapbox receives the location inputs needed for the mapping, geocoding, or route request described above. Providers may process information under their own terms and privacy practices.
We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to respond to a safety emergency, investigate abuse or security incidents, protect users, or enforce our terms.
Cookies, Analytics And Diagnostics Choices
We use necessary cookies and local storage for authentication, account sessions, security and preferences. A first-party privacy-choice cookie remembers your optional browser analytics decision.
Browser analytics and browser error diagnostics are optional. On the Website, Web App, and Tools, Google Analytics, Vercel Web Analytics, and browser Sentry load only after you select Allow analytics. You can decline without losing ordinary service access, reopen Privacy choices, and change your decision. A Global Privacy Control signal keeps optional browser analytics off.
Mobile Firebase Analytics is off by default and is not enabled by accepting these Terms or acknowledging this Privacy Policy. Any future optional Mobile analytics choice must remain separate from policy acceptance. Crash reporting and the optional technical-diagnostics preference are separate from analytics; attaching diagnostics to a support report is user initiated and does not enable analytics.
Technical issue-report attachments are optional and user initiated. They do not send a report by themselves. We design diagnostics to exclude raw GPS, identity, message contents, and free-form user text.
Retention And Deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, support safety and security, meet legal requirements, and resolve reports or disputes. Different records have different retention periods. Raw live-ride location samples are generally retained for up to 24 hours; a specific safety, security, legal, incident-response, or support need may require longer retention.
When an adult requests account deletion, BikeBus.club locks the account and processes deletion under its account-deletion procedure. Some ride, safety, audit, or legal records may be retained or deidentified where necessary and permitted. Terms and Privacy Policy acceptance evidence is deleted with the account; it is not kept as an indefinitely identifiable record. Rider participation acknowledgement records follow their separate retention rules.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. Sensitive rider, household, emergency contact, and location information is access-controlled based on role and operational need.
No online service can guarantee perfect security.
United States Only
BikeBus.club is currently intended for users in the United States. We may expand support for other countries later and will update this policy before offering region-specific international support.
Your Choices And Requests
You may update account information and use available privacy choices. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict certain information. A parent or guardian may request access to or deletion of rider information they manage, subject to verification and applicable retention obligations.

Changes To This Policy
We will post the current version and effective date. We will provide notice of material changes and request renewed acknowledgement when required by the change or applicable law. A revised policy alone does not authorize a new or expanded optional use of personal information. Where an additional, purpose-specific choice is required, we will request that choice separately.
